Your journey begins early in the morning as you depart
Marrakech and head toward the
Zagora Desert. The drive takes you through the
High Atlas Mountains, where you’ll pass through
Tizi n’Tichka Pass, offering spectacular views of the valleys and Berber villages nestled in the mountains.Along the way, make stops at picturesque places such as
Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site famous for its fortified mud-brick kasbahs. This historic village has been the backdrop for many films, including
Gladiator and
Game of Thrones. You will have time to explore the kasbah and learn about its history before continuing your journey.You’ll then travel through
Ouarzazate, Morocco’s “Hollywood,” and drive along the
Draa Valley, known for its vast palm groves and kasbahs. Finally, you will arrive in
Zagora, where the desert adventure begins.Upon arrival in Zagora, you’ll embark on a
camel trek into the desert dunes to your
desert camp. Watch the beautiful
Sahara sunset as the colors of the dunes change. Enjoy a traditional
Berber dinner and spend the night under the stars in the desert camp, experiencing the tranquility of the Sahara.
